Hey folks I'm starting my search for some large specimens 12" to 24" tall.. these will be indoor trees with south east exposure with lots of sun year around. Any pointers what kind of trees and second where can I find them. I won't be starting my outdoor collection until next year when our backyard is done.

Hi Eric,
There are a lot of good indoor bonsai trees. Ficus and Money Trees are pretty common, but to honest I don't think they make very convincing bonsai (Ficus trained with the aerial-root-banyan tree style are super cool though). Serissa are pretty good indoors but they do like decent ventilation, same with Jade Tea Trees. I hear that the African Elephant's Foot tree (which is somewhat like a Jade Tea Tree) is super easy to grow in doors (and layers off of just about anything). These types of trees are available at most garden centres. If you are looking for something more finished and you've got too much money to spend you could try Blue Rose Flowers. They have some nice Jade Tea and some spectacular Serissa's (but the prices will knock you on your ass).

Eric, I have a few fairly large indoor bonsai available. There are two ficus zigzag and a couple of jade trees. If you are interested, let me know at my regular email:
